Wave by Suzy Lee
I’ve been looking deeper into wordless books this year, and Wave was a new addition to our collection. Simple and gorgeous showing a child’s play with a wave, I used it with 1st graders to practice storytelling. After creating the story as a whole group by looking carefully at the pictures, I then showed them a cool video of the book. In partners, kids chose from a pile of wordless books I had pulled and began to narrate the story together. It turned out to be a great lesson, and I even had kids wanting to check out wordless books to take home with them that day, which is not something I find happening often with readers of that age.
Here is a list of wordless books we have in our collection. Anyone have any others that are must-haves to add to my list?
